ประวัติหลวงปู่อุดมทรัพย์ (พระอาจารย์จ่อย สิริคุตโต) วัดเวฬุวัน ตำบลพยุห์ อำเภอพยุห์ จังหวัดศรีสะเกษ ชาติภูมิและอุปสมบท ณ บ้านหนองหล่ม อ.วัฒนานคร จ.สระแก้ว ในวันศุกร์ที่ ๑๑ พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ.๒๕๐๓ ในครอบครัวของพ่อลี แม่ตุ่น สว่างกุล ได้ก่อกำเนิดลูกชายคนที่ ๘ จากจำนวนทั้งหมด ๙ คน เด็กคนนี้มีรูปร่างเล็กกว่าลูกคนอื่นๆ พ่อจึงได้ตั้งชื่อว่า "จ่อย" ซึ่งเป็นภาษาอีสานหมายถึงผอมแห้ง เด็กชายจ่อยได้เป็นกำลังสำคัญของครอบครัวด้วยการช่วยทำงานทุกอย่างเหมือนดั่งเด็กโต ในยามว่างสิ่งหนึ่งที่เป็นกิจวัตรประจำวันของเด็กชายจ่อยคือ ชอบไปนั่งคุยกับพระที่วัดถามถึงเรื่องบาปบุญว่ามีจริงไหม บาปอยู่ที่ไหน บุญอยู่ที่ใด เป็นคำถามที่พระในวัดมักจะถูกถามอยู่เสมอๆ ซึ่งพระในวัดท่านก็ตอบว่า "ถ้าอยากรู้ว่าบาปบุญมีจริงไหม ก็ลองมาบวชดูแล้วจะรู้" คำตอบที่พระท่านตอบมาทำให้ในวันนั้นเด็กชายจ่อยฝังใจในการหาคำตอบ พอเริ่มโตเป็นวัยรุ่น จึงได้ไปขออนุญาตพ่อแม่ว่า "บัดนี้ครอบครัวก็เป็นปึกแผ่นแล้ว อยากจะออกบวชเรียน เพื่อศึกษาหาคำตอบที่สงสัยมานาน" เมื่อพ่อแม่ได้ฟังดังนั้นก็ยินดีอนุโมทนาอนุญาตให้บวชเป็นสามเณ...
